The law is changing in response to the prevalence of homelessness in Washington. In the last several years, federal and state courts have issued decisions that have altered the ability of municipalities to regulate certain types of conduct in public places. This webinar will summarize recent developments in the law relating to homelessness and provide insight on possible future developments.
Educational Objectives
Local governments are in the difficult position of both regulating the conduct of homeless individuals under certain circumstances as well as helping ensure they receive supportive services, including food and shelter. This webinar will address how to juggle those seemingly conflicting responsibilities, with a focus on defining:
