Webinar Overview

Have you found a contract available from another government agency that would also fit for a product or service project for your agency? Under state law, local governments can “piggyback” on another public agency’s active contract, such as purchases of products or services, to save time and obtain better prices than they might be able to do when following their own agency’s competitive process.

This session will cover the ABCs to consider when deciding whether piggybacking is the proper alternative to use instead of your agency’s competitive procurement process.

Educational Objectives

During this session, information will be presented on:

  • How to evaluate ABCs: Adaptability, Benefit, and Compliance
  • Examples of common cooperative contracts
  • Frequently asked questions regarding piggybacking

Presenters

  • Josh Klika, Procurement and Contracting Consultant, MRSC.
  • Julie Nicoll, Legal Consultant, MRSC.
