General Information
Webinar Overview
Washington State has experienced an astonishing level of population growth over the past several years. This growth has generated a high demand for housing, which has fueled our state’s affordable housing crisis. One of the negative impacts of that housing demand is that lower-income households are being displaced from their neighborhoods and communities. While it is easy to recognize the negative effects of displacement, it is very difficult for local governments to effectively address this challenging problem.
This webinar is intended to describe the displacement problem facing many communities and highlight the efforts of two Washington cities that are already moving forward with implementing their anti-displacement policies. It will focus on meaningful anti-displacement goals, objectives, and implementation strategies being added to comprehensive plans.
